03.04.2024. Budding Wings

“...run my dear from anything that may not strengthen your precious budding wings.”

“…run like hell my dear from anyone likely to put a sharp knife
into the sacred, tender vision of your beautiful heart.”
— Hafiz

This poem. This wisdom. This sacred action, run….”run my dear. Run like hell” for anyone or anything that does not see you. Does not hold you sacred, does not see the holy moving, breathing, taking form through you…you! The holiness that exists inside everything, everyone.

Run, dear one, especially from yourself–from the part of yourself– that does not see the truth of who and what is here, and insteads listens to (and believes too) the crazy-making voices that have taken up residence inside the cave of your head. You will know them by their tone. They tend to speak in the language of shame,  blame,  berate, betray,  demand,  and whispers of sweet broken-not good enough-no value into you. Their only intent is to harm. to put gorgeous you, and your exquisite budding wings in a tightly sealed-off box with the hope to destroy,  suffocate, and stow away your Light. Hold you hostage from Love.  Run, dear one, run, the world needs your Light.

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

A dear client sent me this video about Kintsugi to share and this exquisite quote:

“In all of the Berber Moroccan rugs there is always somewhere in the rug a sown-in thread of imperfection, because as they say, “only God perfect.”

Kintsugi | A Short Film by Paul Allison (5:07 min)
Oh my, the music is sweet and kind. The film is sweet and kind.
The art of mending. The warmth and care required to be in relationship.
The co-responsibility required to consciously offer repair.

🌸 Two Poems 🌸

We Have Not Come to Take Prisoners | Hafiz
We have not come here to take prisoners,
But to surrender ever more deeply
To freedom and joy.

We have not come into this exquisite world
To hold ourselves hostage from love.

Run my dear,
From anything
That may not strengthen
Your precious budding wings.

Run like hell my dear,
From anyone likely
To put a sharp knife
Into the sacred, tender vision
Of your beautiful heart.

We have a duty to befriend
Those aspects of obedience
That stand outside of our house
And shout to our reason
“O please, O please,
Come out and play.”

For we have not come here to take prisoners
Or to confine our wondrous spirits,

But to experience ever and ever more deeply
Our divine courage, freedom and
Light!

-Hafiz

Mysteries, Yes (excerpt) | Mary Oliver
Let me keep my distance, always, from those
who think they have the answers.

Let me keep company always with those who say
 “Look!” and laugh in astonishment,
 and bow their heads.

Three Quotes | Atticus. Howard Thurman. Joseph Campbell.
“ The trick to life is to have the courage to walk down the path that’s lit up
in your heart.”
— Atticus from Harper Lee’s acclaimed novel, To Kill a Mockingbird

“"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
Howard Thurman

“You must have a room, or a certain hour or so a day, where you don't know what was in the newspapers that morning, you don't know who your friends are, you don't know what you owe anybody, you don't know what anybody owes to you. This is a place where you can simply experience and bring forth what you are and what you might be. This is the place of creative incubation. At first you may find that nothing happens there. But if you have a sacred place and use it, something eventually will happen.” — Joseph Campbell in THE POWER OF MYTH

One Podcast | Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus
A great interview with Jane Fonda. Julia Gets Wise with Jane Fonda (49:56 min)

A great listen. aging. wisdom. speaks to the importance of being intentional. the value of female friendships. body and self image. being physically strong. making peace with her body,

“I don’t criticize it and hate on it anymore."

aging and plastic surgery,

“I’m sorry that I did get plastic surgery, I am. I wish that I had been able to grow old and peace with my face. But I wasn’t able to. And I don’t feel good about it. That it’s not real, but I can’t do anything about it now.”

the early childhood conditioning that informed her choices. the advice she would give to her 21-year-old self,

“No is a complete sentence.”

She attributed the quote to the beloved Anne Lamott. included here for you a TEDtalk by her and truly any of her books are a wow!  12 Truths I Learned From Life and Writing

And a quote Jane Fonda shared that she loves by T. S. Eliot, from Little Gidding--

“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”

This we each know in the core of our soul,  this returning. This ending where we started so long ago. Returning to the remnants of who we have always known to be. That got covered over; took wrong turns. made u-turns. got stuck at roadside rest stops longer  than expected due to bad weather and blown out tires, waiting in repair. Life’s journey that lands, circles us back to the ground of our being. Here. back to where we started. Back to the truth of who we are. Who we have always been,  known ever since we were young. We return with age and wisdom stripped bare. revealed. worn into Beauty, our essential self.
