What is Metta?

It all begins with opening the heart

Metta Monday is a weekly, open meditation practice with an emphasis on taking a good seat inside yourself, cultivating a posture of dignity and ease, the first gesture of an open heart— cultivating compassion and lovingkindness through warmth and care with yourself and the breath.

Let's practice together- cultivating a posture of dignity and ease, anchoring our hearts into the ground of our being with embodied breath.

Metta is the practice of lovingkindness. A compassionate meditative practice that offers warmth and care. The essence of Metta meditation practice is that it makes a home in the heart for greater compassion, joy, equanimity and peace.

Metta is a practice that invites in a gesture of ease, generosity and authenticity without discounting the stubborn grip of the fixating mind. It is a practice that holds the fundamental truth that all beings wish to be happy.

NOTE: Metta Monday Meditation will not take place on the following dates:

Come sit with me in Metta (LovingKindness) Meditation Practice

Weekly on Mondays at 2:00 pm

  • 2-3 pm: Metta Meditation & Calm-Abiding Practice 

  • 3-4 pm: Back to Basics: Foundational Teachings on Mindful Awareness Meditation

    Where: In-Person at 1765 Glenview Road, Glenview (the Patio Shops)

    Cost: No Fee — donations and poems are appreciated
